A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth. In addition to a full denture (complete set of artificial teeth), there are also partial dentures. The most suitable option depends on how many teeth you are missing.

A full denture replaces all the teeth in the upper and/or lower jaw. This removable denture is custom-made in a dental laboratory to fit your mouth perfectly. Modern dentures are much more comfortable than they used to be, but it can take some time to get used to them. If you experience discomfort, we can adjust the fit to improve comfort.
A partial denture is suitable if you are missing several teeth but still have some of your natural teeth. It fills the gaps, preventing the remaining teeth from shifting. Like full dentures, partial dentures are custom-made for optimal fit and function.
As we age, the jawbone without teeth naturally shrinks. This can cause a denture to become loose, making it harder to chew and speak, and sometimes causing gum irritation or pain. It can also lead to sunken cheeks, changing the shape of your face.
If you have a loose-fitting denture, an implant-supported overdenture can be an excellent solution. The denture is fixed securely onto dental implants, stopping further bone shrinkage and improving stability. This treatment may be eligible for coverage under the basic Dutch health insurance.
Your denture is custom-made in a dental laboratory. Modern dentures are more natural-looking and comfortable than in the past, but they will never feel exactly like your own teeth. It may take some time to get used to them. If you experience discomfort or sore spots, we can make adjustments to ensure a better fit.
