What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells made of composite or porcelain that are placed on the front of your teeth. They are an effective and simple way to improve the shape or colour of a tooth. Veneers can:

  • Close gaps between teeth

  • Repair chipped edges

  • Whiten discoloured teeth

  • Mask slightly crooked teeth

Why Choose Veneers?

Many people feel self-conscious about their teeth. Do you recognise any of these concerns?

  • Yellow teeth that won’t whiten, no matter how much you brush

  • A gap between your teeth that you’d rather not see in photos

  • Chipped or damaged teeth

  • Crooked teeth, but you don’t want braces

Veneers can fix these issues quickly and beautifully. Thin porcelain or composite shells are applied to your teeth, creating a natural-looking, white, and straight smile in no time. The result? A smile you can be proud of!

How Are Veneers Applied?

  1. Consultation & Smile Goals
We start with a consultation to discuss what you want: whiter teeth, a straighter smile, more symmetry? Together we’ll explore the possibilities.

  2. Dental Check & Choosing Veneers
Our dentist examines your teeth and helps you choose between porcelain or composite veneers. You’ll also select the shade and shape that suit you best.

  3. Tooth Preparation
For porcelain veneers, we remove a thin layer of enamel. For composite veneers, this is usually not necessary.

  4. Applying the Veneers
We securely bond the veneers to your teeth and polish them. You leave our practice with your brand-new smile!

Composite veneers can be applied in just one appointment. Porcelain veneers are made in a dental laboratory, requiring at least two visits.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How many veneers will I need?

That depends on what you want to improve. Many people choose 2 to 8 veneers for the front teeth. For a full smile makeover, 10 to 12 may be needed.

What types of veneers are available?

    • Composite: Faster to apply and more affordable, but slightly less durable.
    • Porcelain: Longer-lasting and the most natural-looking.

    How long do veneers last?

    • Composite: 5–8 years on average
    • Porselein: 10–20 years

    Is getting veneers painful?

No. If enamel needs to be removed, we use local anaesthesia. The procedure is virtually painless.

    Can veneers be removed later?

Yes. Composite veneers can be easily replaced. Porcelain veneers must always be replaced due to the enamel removal.

    Are veneers covered by insurance?

Usually not under basic health insurance. Some supplementary dental insurance plans cover part of the cost — check your policy or ask us.

How should I care for veneers?

    • Brush twice a day with a soft toothbrush

    • Use dental floss or interdental brushes

    • Avoid chewing on hard objects

    • Limit coffee, tea, and red wine to prevent staining
